Co-organized by the ICRC Global Cyber Hub in Luxembourg, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Regional Delegation in Nairobi, with support and significant contributions from the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) and the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC), the Nairobi regional edition brought together over 100 expert participants from Kenya, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Somalia, UK, Switzerland, and Luxembourg for discussions around developing robust standards, privacy by design approaches, interoperability, and responsible use of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence to safeguard humanitarian operations and affected communities in Africa’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.
